PDS at Automechanika Shanghai 2025: Rugged Vehicle Computers for Smarter Mobility

PDS Technology will meet vehicle-system developers, distributors, and equipment partners at Automechanika Shanghai 2025. The exhibition runs from November 26 to 29, and visitors can find the PDS team at booth 5.1N77.

For PDS, the event is less about placing another screen inside a vehicle and more about the work that happens behind that screen. Commercial vehicles and industrial machines increasingly need one terminal to handle positioning, driver information, cameras, wireless communication, and links to existing controllers. Those requirements look similar on a project list, but the final hardware can be very different for a tractor, mining truck, delivery fleet, or construction machine.

What PDS will bring to Shanghai

The booth will feature rugged vehicle-mounted tablets and computers developed for field use. The current PDS range includes 7-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch platforms, giving integrators several choices when cab space, viewing distance, and software layout vary from one vehicle to another.

A compact terminal can work well in a delivery van or a machine with limited dashboard space. Larger displays are useful when an operator needs to follow a route, view equipment information, or monitor several camera channels without moving between pages. Screen size is only the visible difference. Projects also depend on operating-system support, communication modules, interfaces, mounting, power input, and the way cables are routed through the vehicle.

PDS products are designed for applications where ordinary consumer tablets are a poor fit. Vibration, dust, temperature changes, glare, and long working hours are normal conditions rather than unusual events. Selected configurations support rugged protection and RTK-enabled positioning for projects that need more than standard navigation.

From positioning to vehicle integration

RTK GNSS is an important part of the PDS display at Automechanika Shanghai 2025, particularly for precision agriculture and industrial vehicles. A positioning receiver alone does not complete the system. The in-cab terminal still has to run the application, show status clearly, receive corrections, and exchange information with the vehicle or machine controller.

That integration work is where buyers often need a closer discussion. One customer may require CAN communication with an existing ECU. Another may need serial devices, cameras, 4G connectivity, or a Linux application already developed by its own engineering team. PDS supports project reviews around these details instead of treating every requirement as a standard catalogue order.

The company also provides OEM and ODM services for vehicle-computer projects. Custom work may include the interface layout, communication module, cable definition, enclosure, mounting method, software functions, branding, and a testing plan based on the customer's deployment environment. A useful first meeting normally starts with the vehicle, application, required peripherals, target market, and sample schedule.

Why Automechanika matters for industrial computing

Automechanika Shanghai brings together companies from many parts of the automotive supply chain. For a vehicle-terminal manufacturer, that mix is valuable. A fleet software provider may be looking for stable onboard hardware. A machinery integrator may need a display that can survive continuous vibration. A distributor may want a platform that can be adapted for several regional customers rather than a single fixed application.

These conversations help move a product from a specification sheet to an installation that technicians and drivers can actually use. Mounting position, connector access, screen visibility, ignition behavior, and serviceability all become clearer when the people responsible for the complete vehicle can review the terminal together.

Visitors are welcome to bring drawings, controller information, software screenshots, or an existing project specification to booth 5.1N77. The PDS team can then discuss whether a current model fits or whether an OEM/ODM configuration would be more practical.

Meet PDS at Automechanika Shanghai 2025

Event: Automechanika Shanghai 2025

Date: November 26–29, 2025

Booth: 5.1N77

PDS will present rugged vehicle computers, RTK-enabled terminals, and configurable onboard hardware for precision farming, construction equipment, mining vehicles, and fleet operations. Buyers who cannot attend can review the PDS product range online or send their project requirements through the contact page.

The most useful inquiry is a specific one. Include the vehicle type, screen preference, operating system, positioning requirement, interfaces, wireless region, mounting space, expected quantity, and timing for the first sample. That information gives the engineering team a realistic starting point for the next discussion.
